Previous planning applications for lodge-style accommodation on the site have already been granted to businessman David Bakalarski, who was born in the property.The entire contents of the Gables Balmoral hotel including bedrooms, café, restaurant, well equipped kitchens, plant rooms, bar, laundry, common areas and back of house are to go under the hammer, when an auction is planned for the 12th September 2007.
National chain Travelodge is showing its confidence in Blackpool by applying to build its second hotel in the resort and is in negotiations to buy the family-owned Gables Balmoral Hotel in Balmoral Road, demolish it and create a new hotel.
